A Leader in Trauma and Musculoskeletal Care Located in a bustling area of Beirut, our emergency department is uniquely experienced in managing musculoskeletal trauma and fractures. This has established us as a key provider of urgent orthopedic services year-round. Our affiliation with the UNHCR has also expanded our role in caring for trauma cases from refugee communities across the country. In addition to trauma, our consultant physicians provide readily available treatment options for a wide range of chronic musculoskeletal conditions in our private clinics. Our staff is highly trained and skilled across most orthopedic disciplines, ensuring comprehensive care for all patients.

Throughout Lebanese history, including challenging times like the Beirut Port Explosion in 2020, Makassed has always kept its doors open, providing critical care to the injured and serving our country and fellow citizens.

Commitment to Education & Training Our mission extends beyond patient care to include teaching and launching adept new orthopedic surgeons. We offer a five-year intensive surgical and medical training program that prepares residents to become competent in all aspects of modern surgery. The constant availability of our resident staff ensures that our hospital’s services are accessible 24/7, with the skill to tackle the most urgent patient needs. Our fruitful partnership with Beirut Arab University (BAU) provides us with young, eager doctors who advance in the art of orthopedics and graduate as skilled colleagues in the profession. We are proud of the many generations of orthopedic surgeons who have graduated from our program.

Our Goal The aim of our division is to provide the most needed care to our community, country, and neighboring Arab countrymen with the latest treatment strategies.
